In 2004 Bridgeport Free Shakespeare celebrated its fifth anniversary and was finally able to share "A Midsummer Night's Dream" under the stars! Due to heavy thunderstorms in 2000, the production was forced indoors for the entire run. Artistic Director, Ellen Lieberman decided that if Bridgeport Free Shakespeare was still around in 2004 she would try again. Luckily, the weather this season allowed that dream to become a reality. All but one performance was held outside. The zoo's peacocks wandered around the picnic blankets of our audience, which reached sizes of over 1000 on the weekends, many of whom remembered our first year. We look forward to another season with our wonderful audience and good weather in 2005.
