In 2005 Director Ellen Lieberman set “As You Like It” in the 1960s. In our production the story was sprinkled with the music and spirit of The Beatles, Pete Seeger, and yes, Woodstock. The contrast between life at court and the freedom found in the Forest of Arden was made crystal clear. Audience members who were “there” in the 60s and younger people alike enjoyed the combination immensely. Again, good weather and weekends brought over 1000 people to the Pavilion.
“The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.”
-William Shakespeare, As You Like It
